The Bible

The Bible is the inspired, God breathed Word of God. Every word is completely accurate and true. It has no flaw or error. It is the foundation of my faith and practice. We use the King James Version of the Bible for teaching and preaching in the English language.

(2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21)

God

There is only one true and living God, who is in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. All three persons have different characteristics and jobs but are one God.

(Genesis 1:1, Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14, 1 Peter 1:2)

Jesus Christ

Jesus is the human manifest of God. He is the Son of God, born of the Virgin Mary. He is completely God and completely man. Jesus lived a perfect and sinless life to be an example for the Christian walk. He died for the sins of mankind. He was buried for three days and rose to ascend into Heaven to sit at the right hand of God.

(Matthew 1:20-23, Luke 2:4-14, 21, John 1:1-5, Romans 1:3-4, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Hebrews 4:14-15)

Holy Spirit

We believe that God the Holy Spirit’s job is to show unbelievers their need for salvation and is sent to be a comforter and guide to the believer at the point of salvation.

(John 14:25-26, 1 Corinthians 2:12, Romans 8:14-16)

Man

Man was/is/and will be the creation of God, made in the image of God. The first man, Adam, sinned and mankind became sinners in need of a savior.

(Genesis 1:26-27, 3:1-19, Romans 3:23, 1 Corinthians 15:21-33, James 1:14-15)

Salvation

We believe that salvation is a gift only obtained by Jesus Christ. That there is no work or good that we could ever do that could save us, but that we are saved by grace through faith in Christ. It is by His blood that we can be washed clean and forgiven.

(John 3:16, John 14:6, Romans 9-10, Ephesians 2:8-9, 2 Peter 3:9, 2 Timothy 1:9-12)

Eternal Security

Any person who has accepted Christ as their personal Lord and Savior is eternally secured and will forever have a place in Heaven. There is nothing a person can do that will cause them to lose their salvation.

(2 Corinthians 1:22, Ephesians 1:13, Ephesians 4:30)

Eternity

Every person was created to exist forever. There is an eternal Heaven and an eternal Hell. Every person who dies without Christ will spend eternity in Hell, but those who trust in Christ as their Savior are forgiven of their sins and will have eternal life in Heaven.

(2 Corinthians 5:6-8, Luke 16:19-24)

Baptism

Baptism is an outward showing that you accepted Christ and an act of obedience to the command of Christ after salvation. Baptism is not a means of salvation and is not necessary for salvation.

(Matthew 28:19-24, Titus 3:5, Colossians 2:12, Ephesians 2:8-9)

The Church

The church is a local body of believers with the Lord Jesus Christ as head.

(Romans 16:5, 1 Corinthians 16:19, Ephesians 5:23-27,32)

Prayer

Every believer has direct access to God through the mediator Jesus Christ.

(Matthew 6:9-13, 1 Timothy 2:5, Hebrews 10:19-20, 2 Thessalonians 5:17)

Government

We believe in separation of church and state, but not in the separation of God and government. Believers are to obey the law and be salt and light in the community.

(John 19:11, Matthew 22:21, Hebrews 13:7,17, 1 Timothy 2:1-3)

World Evangelism

Every believer is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ, for it is a command from Christ himself.

(Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15, Luke 24:47, John 20:21, Acts 1:8)

Second Coming

There will be a literal return of Christ and he will remove all believers from earth before the great tribulation period. We believe in his bodily visible return with his saints at the close of the tribulation period to rule and reign for a thousand years on earth. We believe that unbelievers will face God and be judged at the Great White Throne Judgment according to their works, not for salvation, but for their proper and rightful place in the lake of fire.

(1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Revelation 4:1, Matthew 16:27, Mark 14:62, John 14:3, Acts 1:11, Philippians 3:20, 2 Timothy 4:1, Titus 2:13, 1 Corinthians 4:5, 1 Corinthians 15, 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10, Revelation 20:4-6,11-15)
